Chapter 7
Puncho was sitting down talking to Quan telling him about one of his old war stories. Puncho was telling him, “damn right. You damn motherfucking right. Me and the crew I was motherfucking running with, we was the first to do that motherfucking shit. Now no disrespect to them Zoe Pound niggas, but we was the first motherfucking ones to run up on them cargo boats when they pulled into them docks and start robbing them for them keys. That was us doing that shit.”
Quan started laughing because he thought Puncho was over telling his story, and Quan found it to be amusing. “Hold up-hold up-hold up-hold up! You telling me you and the motherfuckas you was running with was the first motherfuckas to start robbing them cargo boats for work?’
Puncho told him, “hell yeh that’s what I’m telling you!”
Quan told him, “I don’t believe you.”
Puncho told him, “man I ain’t got no damn reason to lie! Now damn, would you just listen!” Puncho was actually relaying true facts. He told Quan, “now you see, that’s what I don’t tell ya ass nothing, because you don’t know how to shut up and listen!”
Still amused, Quan said, “go head man. My bad, damn, go head.”
“Got damn. Now as I was motherfucking saying,” Puncho said.
Quan told him, “you wild man. I told you to go head.”
Puncho continued on. “Now as I was motherfucking saying. The year was motherfucking eighty nine. That was the year. The Columbian cartel had most of the shit coming in on the ports. And the people I was running with wasn’t a part of the cartel, but they had family members who were deep inside and they would give us the heads up before shipments came in on the boats.”
“Oh, so yall was in the motherfucking game,” Quan said.
Puncho told him, “that was our cash cow for a while,” Puncho told him. “We stock piled millions from that shit.”
Quan had to tell him, “hold on-hold on Puncho. Now you always fucking telling me that I need to change, and I need to get out of here and do the right thing, but then you go telling me all these old war stories and shit. I don’t fucking understand that shit man.”
“Well understand this,” Puncho told him. “And that’s that all my stories got some meaning to it. And the overall meaning of most my stories is once you sitting prison doing life, all the money that a man accumulated, he can’t use that shit to get himself out. So get ya money, but whatever it is you got to do, within the lines of the g-code, you make sure you do it to stay the fuck from behind these walls.”
“Aight man. I here you. I got you.” Quan said
Puncho told him, “you got you another chance. Just make sure you do it.”
Quan then changed subjects. “Got damn, where this motherfucka at? I ain’t bout to be sitting here waiting on this man all day.”
“I don’t know where his ass at,” Puncho said.
